Boston, Monkeys, and Sockapalooza

Warning Picture Heavy Post:
Last week was our 1st anniversary so we headed off to Boston to celebrate, what a fun few days it was! We walked the Freedom Trail, went to the Gardens, visited Quincy’s Market the Duck Tours and a tour of Fenway Park. We also went to Windsor Button’s where I purchased some sock yarn to make socks for Scott and I. Scott choose Claudia Hand Painted Yarns in “Spring Break” and I picked up C.H.P.Y. in “Blue Fields,” I think that these are going to make beautiful socks that will remind us of our first anniversary.
Here are some pictures of our trip:

While on the road I finished these:
Monkey Socks
Monkey Socks
Pattern: Monkey Socks by Cookie A.
Yarn: Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks that Rock lightweight in “Rare Gems” from the 2006 Rockin Sock Club.
Needles: Addi Turbo circulars US 1
Started: May 20, 2007
Finished: May 24, 2007

This year I am trying to get more involved in the knitting community in search of friends who knit so I joined Sockapalooza 4. This is the first time that I am doing anything like this and am having such a great time. I am almost finished with the first of my Sockapalooza 4 Socks:
Meida's Socks
Meida's Socks
I’m knitting “Meida’s Socks” from Favorite Socks in Lorna’s Laces in China Blue. I hope that my pal likes them.

This is long enough so 7 things will have to wait for another day.

Hello, i've been doing the same thing - trying to get more involved in the knitting community by being involved in swaps etc. Hope it works for you!

I love both pairs of socks! I am ordering yarn for both and have a question. On the meida's sock you chose lorna's lace but when I look at the pattern it looks like it calls for a heavier weight yarn. Did you adjust the pattern? Any more details you could give?

Great pics! It sure sounds like you guys had a wonderful time in Boston. I absolutely love your monkey socks! The ones you are doing for your Sockapalooza are looking great! Man, you're almost done the first sock and I've yet to get the yarn for yours! Hopefully it will come in this week and I can start on them...though I think I'll have to change patterns because I've discovered the one I had wanted to do is done on circulars and I haven't tried that method yet - and I want to make sure your socks turn out good and not bad.

Happy Anniversary! I'm glad you had such a fun trip!

The Meida socks are ones I've been wanting to try. They look great, and I'm sure your pal with love them :)

The Monkey socks are also lovely. It's so nice to find a pattern that works with variegated yarns!
