I mixed two packets of cherry for red, two packets of pina-pineapple orange and two packet of lemonade and some of the packet of orange for yellow in mason jars from AC Moore.
Then I placed the jars in a large pot, filled it with water and put the yarn that I sectioned off before soaking into the mason jars. I began to heat the pot up until a near boil and shut off the heat. The liquid in the jars was clear which means that the yarn soaked up all the dye. I placed the cover of the pot over the yarn and let it set for about 1-2 hours.
When the water was cool I took out the yarn and gave it a rinse in the sink to make sure that all the dye set.
I hung it up to dry and then wound it up. I wanted the color to look like one of my favorite drinks a tequila sunrise and I think that it does in a way. However blogger is being a pain and will not let me post the picture of the final product, I'll try again later.

I love the colors you used for your sock yarn--and the mason jar idea is brilliant! I'll have to remember that; I have a few skeins of that in my stash.
I'm up for an Eternal Promise SAL--maybe we'll get some takers on the BB as well. What day of the week would be good for you to post progress? I'm open for any day but Wednesdays, as that's my QS day. Let me know about your schedule so we can figure it out :)
I'm stitching it 1 over 1, full cross. The coverage is working out pretty well so far. I'm so tempted to start something new(I'm actually deciding between two pieces), but I don't want to take too much time away from what I already have going--frustrating ;)
Have a great weekend!
The colours are gorgeous! Definitely Tequila Sunrise!
